Statement from Elizabeth Redenbaugh, NCLCV Board Member and Wilmington Resident, on Sen. Michael Lee (R-Wilmington) Environmental Record
Michael Lee is running ads claiming that he is “fighting for clean water.” That’s false. We’d like to correct the record. Sen. Lee had a 0 NCLCV score in the 2017-18 legislative sessions, reflecting his failure to adequately address GenX contamination in his district. His record was not any better in previous sessions either: he has also earned a lifetime 0 score. The reality is Sen. Lee is not a leader on these issues. The people of New Hanover County deserve a senator who will actually fight for clean water, not just give it lip service.
