Doris received her associates of art education from Kennedy King Jr College, her bachelor degree in social work and minor in psychology, and received her master degree in Psychology and Counseling from Governor State University. Doris believes that leaving a legacy is more about your actions and less about you as a individual. Being a changemaker is about staying the course with consistency, intentionality, and making a real difference within yourself, your communities, and the world.
From 1988 to 2006, she worked at the County of Los Angeles Department Children and Family Service Since 2016, she has worked in Johnston County Public Schools District as a substitute teacher for K-12. She has leadership experience as: an assistant governor in Areas 6, past President Rotary E Club District 7710, a political liaison for Johnston County NAACP, a board member for North Carolina Strategic Planning Cooperative N.C. A&T State University, past President/Founder Johnston County African America Caucus, and a past Board member of Johnston County Juvenile Crime Prevention.
