Walker is a retired Environmental Health Specialist working in areas of Vector Born diseases( West Nile Virus, EEE, Lyme Disease and spotted Fever Complex). He also has managed the family farm since 1964, which includes a 350 acre tree farm. Walker also taught Natural Resource Management courses at Martin Community College for nine years. Prior to this he was the first wildlife biologist employed by the Wilmington District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he contributed to Environmental Impact Statements. Walker is currently a member of both the Creation Care Committees of NC Conference United Methodist Church and the Beacon District UMC. He and his wife Marjorie have four children, seven grandchildren and two dogs.
