Overview: Forecast for 2018
Last week, CIB brought you a look at 2017 in review. This week, we pass along one observer’s take on what we can expect on the environment in North Carolina this year.
In this well-considered article, environmental reporter Lisa Sorg offers her projections on 2018’s coming policy battles over water, energy, the coast, air, and waste in North Carolina.
CIB will predict one more major 2018 battleground for the environment in our state: the legislative elections. The 170 contests for state House and Senate will determine whether anti-regulatory, anti-environment voices continue to dominate the halls of our General Assembly, or whether advocates for public health and a clean environment will once again have a full seat at the table shaping state policy.
And that’s a prediction you can take to the bank…the riverbank.
