President Trump touts his replacement for President Obama’s Clean Car Standards as the “Safe Affordable Fuel-Efficient” (SAFE) standard. Unfortunately for truth in advertising, his own Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) analyses show his proposal will cost both money and lives.
Helpfully explained and painstakingly cited in a summary letter from Sen. Tom Carper (D-DE), the EPA report shows the proposed substitute rule would cost consumers more in extra fuel burned than they would save in auto sticker price, and that there would be a steep price to pay in health and lives lost to increased air pollution.
Tell Sen. Thom Tillis to stop Trump’s clean car catastrophe!
