For the first time, electricity produced by wind has exceeded power produced by coal in a huge American state, Texas. That is according to data for the first half of 2019.
No single fact surfaced over the past week which more dramatically underscored that renewable energy sources are economically the wave of the future. When it comes to power generation, fossil fuels’ competitive status is fading rapidly.
And the news just keeps getting better for renewable energy. Politically conservative Oklahoma is about to build the next-generation “triple threat”: wind, solar, and battery storage in one plant. Clearly, it’s past time for even conservative state leaders to sign on to the clean energy economy of the future.
