Executive Watch: Governor Declares Clean Energy Week

Gov. Roy Cooper declared last week (Sept. 25-29) as Clean Energy Week in North Carolina, “to recognize that clean energy drives North Carolina’s energy future and fosters economic growth.”

In a news release last week, NC Dept. of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Secretary Michael Regan said, “Our state leads the way in developing clean energy solutions that power our economy and preserve our environment. This industry [including wind, solar, and energy efficiency] capitalizes on our state’s abundant resources and reduces our dependence on imported energy resources while boosting our national security.”

Cooper’s full proclamation can be found here.
