A major wind energy project just north of the North Carolina coast took a big step forward last week when regulators, the sponsoring utility (Dominion Energy), and other parties reached a deal on how to address possible cost overruns. Environmental and clean energy groups were among those supporting the deal, which should keep the $9 billion offshore wind project on track for construction.
The Dominion project is expected to become the first large wind development to be completed and operational off the South Atlantic coast.
