The 2014 National Climate Assessment, released in May 2014, provided some grim news for the entire United States. But, there were some specific warnings for us in the Southeast. Rising temperatures spell disaster for our agricultural and farming communities with prolonged droughts and negative impacts on livestock. For those on the coast, the threat of floods will be even greater as sea levels will continue to rise.
But, if we start addressing our carbon footprint now, we can offset, reduce, or even eliminate some of these consequences facing our earth, our health, and our way of life.
