NCLCV Statement on the Proposed Rules to Limit Carbon Pollution from New and Existing Power Plants
May 15, 2023
Raleigh, N.C. – Following the release by the EPA of its proposed rules to limit carbon pollution from new and existing power plants, Dan Crawford, director of governmental relations of North Carolina League of Conservation Voters, made the following statement:
“The NC League of Conservation Voters believes the proposed rules to limit carbon pollution from new and existing fossil-fueled power plants are an important step in the right direction for cleaner air and healthier communities for North Carolinians. We appreciate this effort by President Biden and Administrator Regan, and urge the EPA to finalize the strongest possible rules by early next year. Additionally, these rules will help inform the ongoing work by the NC Utilities Commission to implement the carbon plan signed last year by Gov. Roy Cooper.”
