The 2024 Elections Will Establish The Leaders For Clean Energy In The U.S. and N.C.
The Biden-Harris Administration’s 2023 year-end report on clean energy notes the expansion of American clean energy manufacturing facilities, as well as deployment of grid-scale battery storage, among the year’s most noteworthy developments.

We see our nation’s progress towards a clean energy future thanks to the Biden-Harris Administration, but what is North Carolina’s government doing?
North Carolina’s Future Governor
Governor Cooper has served well as North Carolina’s biggest environmental advocate in a position of power. He reliably advocates for North Carolinians and has scored an “A” on every scorecard since he was elected. But his term is almost up. Who can pick up where he left off?
Josh Stein has served as NC Attorney General since 2017. He took DuPont and Chemours to court for polluting the Cape Fear River with toxic forever chemicals because “polluters should pay to clean up the messes they make.” He has earned our endorsement, as well as many others.
In stark contrast, Mark Robinson–the leading Republican candidate for governor–has established himself as an avid climate denier. He calls climate science “junk science” and says climate change happens four times a year with the seasons. We are part of the Coalition Against Robinson Extremism and work hard to hold him accountable for his lies about climate change. Visit CARE’s website to see how we are challenging his harmful rhetoric.
In conclusion, the most powerful seat in government cannot be given to a climate denier. We need a governor who listens when the majority of North Carolinians say they want clean energy. And they want it sooner rather than later. We need a governor that seeks to more quickly achieve our clean energy goals. North Carolina cannot move backwards. That’s why we must elect Josh Stein as governor.
