March 15, 2016.
Despite the best efforts of Governor McCrory and other North Carolina leaders to ignore the will of more than 30 communities and tens of thousands of citizen voices, the Obama Administration announced that offshore drilling would no longer be considered for the Atlantic Ocean in the 2017-2022 draft lease plan.
You voices – business owners, environmentalists, faith leaders, surfers, retirees, students, and everyday North Carolinians – were heard in Washington D.C.
This is a victory of citizen advocacy! You showed up and demonstrated why protecting North Carolina’s coast mattered to you, your families, your livelihoods, and our state’s future.
Join us in thanking President Obama for protecting North Carolina’s coast from offshore drilling!
