Education & Resources: Interactive Maps Show Drilling Impacts
There’s a new tool to help explain in detail how offshore drilling would harm our coastal communities.
A new interactive map prepared by the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) will assist coastal advocates in better understanding and sharing the problems which would result from drilling for oil and gas off our coast. Check it out here.
SELC explains that this new resource “explores the impacts of the proposed drilling plan for the Mid- and South Atlantic through scrolling story maps, showing what’s at stake for communities, key resources, economies, and quality of life along our coast, and how these factors overlap and interplay. At the end of the scrolling story maps is an interactive map that includes all the data sets to allow users to explore specific data, areas and issues, and print their own maps.”
