NCLCV Announces New Board President

RALEIGH – North Carolina League of Conservation Voters (NCLCV) formally announced today its new board president, Maria Kingery. Kingery takes the place of Nina Szlosberg-Landis who stepped down as board president at NCLCV’s annual Green Tie Awards held May 29th. Kingery takes over the role after serving on NCLCV’s board for over five years.

Kingery is a co-founder of Southern Energy Management (SEM), now the CEO, which was founded in 2001 and provides solar energy installations, energy efficiency and building services around the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. Prior to founding SEM, Kingery worked as a retail operations manager for Burt’s Bees where she helped to create a business framework for expanding sales of Burt’s Bees natural personal care products. In addition, Kingery serves as the board chair for the NC Sustainability Center and is also a board member of the NC Sustainable Energy Association. Kingery also contributes to a number of statewide initiatives including the State Energy Sector Partnership and the NC Community College System’s Code Green Leadership. Kingery remains actively involved at NC State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in English Literature. Kingery currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for the College of Humanities and Social Science.

Kingery lives with her husband Bob in Raleigh, NC with their eleven year old son, Zach.
