Climate Power’s Report Shows Great Progress in NC’s Renewable Energy
A new analysis shows that clean renewable energy development is booming in North Carolina. According to a new report from the climate action advocacy organization Climate Power, North Carolina leads the nation in key economic impacts from clean energy development.
The Climate Power 2025 report notes that entering 2025, “North Carolina ranks first nationwide for the number of clean energy jobs (9,349) and investments ($17.1 billion) in rural communities.”
Overall, since the passage of federal clean investments legislation in 2022, North Carolina has experienced $20.44 billion in new clean energy project investments and created 17,148 clean energy jobs in this state. North Carolina is now becoming a hub for battery and electric vehicle production as part of its 32 new projects spanning the sectors of batteries, clean technologies, electric vehicles, solar, and grid and transmission.
