Last Chance to Vote in Primary 2026

Last Chance to Make Your Voice Heard in 2026 Primary: Tuesday, March 3

The early voting period for primary 2026 in North Carolina ended February 28. NC voters who haven’t cast their ballots yet have one more chance to weigh in: Election Day, Tuesday, March 3.

Here’s How to Prepare to Vote

Many of us have become so used to voting early at our choice of polling sites that we aren’t sure where our residential precinct’s polling place is located. For that uncertain voter as well as the first-timer or the recently moved, here’s the hack that makes it simple.

Go to https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/, enter your name and county of residence, and hit enter. Click on your name and scroll down the results, where you’ll find both your election-day polling place and your sample ballot.

While you’re there, you can check your sample ballot against the NCLCV Environmental Scorecard to compare the voting records of any incumbent legislator on your ballot this year.

Make a plan to vote and bring your ID! See acceptable ID’s here.

So, no excuses – do your part for our environment. Vote with the environment in mind!

Take One Step Further: Protect Voter Rights

After you’ve voted in this year’s primary election, stand up for voting rights! Trump and his allies want to pass two bills threatening our votes and our democracy.

The Save America Act (SAVE) will put up barriers to voting by requiring every single American citizen to provide very specific documents, chiefly by either presenting a passport or an original copy of their birth certificate when registering to vote and anytime they update their voter registration. Twenty-one million American citizens don’t have these documents readily available.

This bill would especially burden military voters, tribal voters, rural voters, survivors of natural disasters, and the tens of millions of married women in America who have changed their names.

The MEGA Bill

The Make Elections Great Again (MEGA) Bill has even stricter requirements, like requirements for voters to present documentary proof of citizenship when they register and at the polls, and for absentee ballots to be received by election day. Most Americans want every eligible voter to vote, every vote to count, and believe that voters should pick our leaders.
