Join Us Virtually to Fight Back Against an Expensive, Dirty Gas Pipeline
Transco’s proposed “Southeast Supply Enhancement Project” (SSEP) fossil gas pipeline in North Carolina would hike electric bills while boosting climate-heating carbon emissions. But citizens can fight back now.
“Speaking up against this projected pipeline is critical to protect the people and the pocketbooks of North Carolina. Transco’s efforts to expand their already existing infrastructure means North Carolinians will be paying to pollute their environment for the next twenty years,” says Michelle “Meech” Carter, the Clean Energy Campaigns director for the NC League of Conservation Voters. “We do not need more methane gas, and even Transco has admitted that ‘The benefits of the project are not realized by those who are impacted… (the) benefits are seen by those outside the project area.’”
Transcontinental Gas Pipeline Company, LLC (Transco) has applied to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to build the Southeast Supply Enhancement Project (SSEP), the largest East Coast pipeline proposed in a decade.
