A newly released Sierra Club report “Duke Energy’s $3 Billion Secret” (PDF) shows the utility’s continued operation of aging coal plants is costing its customers billions on their electric bills. Ratepayers and stockholders — not to mention our environmental health — would benefit from accelerating the transition from coal to clean energy.
