LCV Endorses Timmons-Goodson

Last week, the national League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund endorsed Pat Timmons-Goodson for U.S. House from North Carolina’s Eighth Congressional District, currently represented by Richard Hudson.

“Pat Timmons-Goodson is exactly the kind of person we need in Congress,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “She has a long career of breaking down barriers and we know she will work to protect the health of all communities in North Carolina and champion environmental and climate justice. We are proud to endorse her for Congress.”

“North Carolina needs leaders in Congress who believe in science and will fight to protect the health of all North Carolinians,” said Dan Crawford, Director of Governmental Relations at North Carolina League of Conservation Voters. “Pat understands the urgency of the climate crisis and will work to ensure clean energy for all.”

After an extraordinary judicial career which included decades of public service taking her to the North Carolina Supreme Court, Justice Timmons-Goodson was nominated by President Barack Obama for a federal judicial seat. Unfortunately, hyper-partisan Washington politics denied her a hearing and vote in the U.S. Senate. She is now seeking an opportunity to help directly repair that dysfunctional Washington system.

“I am so honored to have the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund. I appreciate LCV’s unparalleled support for clean air, clean water and a sustainable future,” said Pat Timmons-Goodson. “From GenX to coal ash, they have led on protecting our environment for North Carolina and this entire country. I look forward to working with them as a partner to address these issues in Congress.”

In previous months, LCV endorsed Joe Biden for President and Cal Cunningham for U.S. Senate, among other North Carolina federal candidates.
