Dan River Coal Ash Mitigation

Duke

This week, residents near the impact zone of Duke Energy’s disastrous 2014 coal ash spill into the Dan River will have two chances to air their concerns to the federal and state governments.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and North Carolina’s and Virginia’s environmental regulatory agencies will hold two joint public information and comment sessions from 6 to 8 p.m. on:

  • Tuesday, August 6, Danville Municipal Building, 427 Patton Street, Danville, VA
  • Wednesday, August 7, Eden Town Hall, 308 E Stadium Drive, Eden, NC

Concerned citizens can make recommendations on how much Duke should compensate the government for the spill’s damages.
