Trump Rollback Threatens North Carolina Waters

The Trump Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is trying to repeal an Obama-era definition of waters protected by the Clean Water Act, and NCLCV and environmental advocates across the nation are sounding alarm bells. 

In an excellent piece for NC Policy Watch, environmental reporter Lisa Sorg details why and how this attack is such a severe threat to clean water resources in North Carolina. 

Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) attorney Geoff Gisler told Sorg the Trump rule would radically shrink protected waters and wetlands, shield developers from having to restore wetlands they damage, and result in “dramatic increases in the number of streams plowed over, developed, paved.”
