New Climate Voters Resource Launches

Just in time for the start of early in-person voting this week, citizen groups including NCLCV’s Conservation Votes PAC and the NC Chapter of the Sierra Club have joined forces to create the new Green Voter Guide NC

For a total of 80 state candidates (two for the NC Supreme Court, 56 for the NC House, and 22 for the NC Senate), the guide includes information on each candidate, a link to their website, and the ability to make a donation directly to each candidate. In addition, voters can get information about registering to vote, how to vote, and election updates.

“We believe that voting is the most important step citizens can take to protect our environment and our democracy, so we are excited to provide this new resource to voters who want to make an informed decision,” said Dan Crawford, director of Conservation Votes PAC. “We’re also thrilled to partner with the Sierra Club to amplify our voices.”

The Green Voter Guide’s mission is to serve as a consolidated one-stop source for voters to access information on candidates receiving formal citizen environmental group endorsements in our state. “This website aggregates the endorsements of leading environmental organizations in the state in order to help voters identify which candidates on their ballot will lead on environmental issues and protect our democracy– so we can elect leaders who share our values. Each organizations’ endorsement process is different and not every candidate applies for every endorsement, but we hope our combined efforts can raise critical climate issues in every campaign and highlight candidates that will fight to protect our air, land, and water.”

Before you vote this time, check out the Green Voter Guide NC to find state and federal candidates on your ballot who will support action on the climate crisis, environmental justice, and a green and healthy environment for our future.
