Environomics: Wind Energy Working Now in NC

We close this week with good news: North Carolina’s first major wind farm facility is fully up and spinning now to produce enough clean electricity to power 60,000 homes.

The operation of the $400 million Avangrid Renewables wind farm in northeastern North Carolina turned into a late-breaking soap opera when state legislative leaders asked the Trump Administration to shut it down at the last minute. (Yep, it’s those guys again, pulling out all the stops to undermine renewable energy.)

At this point, the State Senate leadership’s latest crusade to stop the wind has fallen short. We’re cheering for that to remain the case.
