Coast Watch: New Offshore Plan Open for Comment

Coast Watch: New Offshore Plan Open for Comment

As expected, the Trump Interior Department wants to scrap the 5-year plan for offshore resource management that was just finalized last year under the Obama Administration. True to this administration’s bias, it wants to drill for oil and gas anywhere it can, and to heck with the environmental or economic consequences.

Fortunately, the law requires public comment and a public trail of analysis before any such radical shifts can be carried out. The public comment process is open now. Public comments will be accepted for 45 days from today (July 3).

NCLCV encourages citizen coastal conservation advocates to let your voices be heard on behalf of our fragile and irreplaceable North Carolina coast.
