One Week to Elect Environmental Champs

With one week left in campaign 2020, we’re running out of time to ensure North Carolina elects environmental champions statewide and in competitive state legislative districts.

Early in-person voting concludes this Saturday, October 31. Election analysts agree the majority of North Carolinians who vote this year will vote during the early period. If you have not yet voted, don’t miss the opportunity to vote early, when registration errors can be corrected, and no last-minute emergency can interfere with your casting your vote. On election day itself, November 3, it’s too late to fix registration. Find times and places to vote early in your home county here.

When you vote, be sure to consult all of our Conservation PAC’s endorsements for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Commissioner of Agriculture, and state House and Senate

Finally, take advantage of this last week’s opportunities to have an impact beyond your individual vote. Competitive candidates will all be in search of more volunteer help this week for key tasks from GOTV (get out the vote) phoning to handing out campaign fliers at the polling places themselves. For down-ballot contests like state legislature, effective poll greeters can make a small but significant difference in their vote total by drawing positive attention to a contest in which many voters would have neglected to cast a vote.

Help push an environmental champion over the finish line: pick one of Conservation PAC’s endorsees, and contact their campaign to volunteer for a virtual phone bank from the comfort of your own home, or a contactless lit drop or poll greeting shift.

Let’s act now: November 4 will be too late.
