Gov. Cooper’s Report Card

Gov. Cooper has consistently prioritized the environment throughout his first term. He has used his power, including executive orders and the veto, to build a cleaner, more sustainable future for North Carolina. In 2019, we gave him an “A” score, and we are maintaining that assessment this year. In addition to his environmental advocacy, Gov. Cooper’s response to COVID-19 exemplifies his dedication to North Carolinians’ health. Since the governor does not vote on bills, his score is based on public statements, executive orders, and the bills he decides to sign into law or veto.
