Ouch. The new French president, Emmanuel Macron, got in a dig at Trump’s no-nothing climate policies by issuing an invitation to American climate research scientists to move to France.
However, the French say he’s not joking. He’s taking advantage of the current U.S. administration’s backwardness in a serious effort to poach top scientific talent for the French economy. Even if the new recruiting website boasts the snarky slogan “Make Our Planet Great Again,” it also lists open positions and offers of research grants.
We can only wish the current U.S. president had any desire to compete in this contest.
